    FAQ Answers

    Outlook Express

    Use the following instructions to configure Outlook Express to connect to our servers :

    1) In Outlook Express, click on Tools and then Accounts.
    2) Click on the tab at the top called Mail.
    3) Click on the Add button.
    4) Select Mail from the list.
    5) Follow the simple instructions.
    6) Incoming mail server is pop.shasta.com.
    7) Outgoing mail server is smtp.shasta.com.
    8) Account name is your username.
    9) Password is your password.

    That's it, you should now be able to send and receive e-mail using Outlook Express.

    Microsoft Internet Mail

    Use the following instructions to configure Internet Mail to connect to our servers :

    1) In Internet Mail click on Mail and then Options.
    2) Click on the tab at the top called Server.
    3) For incoming server, put pop.shasta.com.
    4) For outgoing server, put smtp.shasta.com.
    5) For Account Name, put in your username.
    6) For Password, put in your password.
    7) Click on Ok.

    That's it, you should no be able to send and receive e-mail using Internet Mail.

    Netscape Messenger

    Use the following instructions to configure Netscape Messenger to connect to our servers :

    1) In Netscape, click on Edit and then Preferences.
    2) Double click on Mail and Groups.
    3) Click on Mail Servers.
    3) Click on Add.
    4) Server name should read pop.shasta.com.
    5) Server type should read POP3.
    6) Username should have your username.
    7) Remember password should be checked.
    8) Click on Ok.
    9) Outgoing mail server should read smtp.shasta.com.

    That's it, your should now be able to send and receive e-mail using Netscape Messenger.

    Eudora Light

    Use the following instuctions to configure Eudora Light to connect to our servers :

    1) In Eudora, click on Tools and then Options.
    2) Click on Getting Started.
    3) POP Account should read username@pop.shasta.com.
    4) Click on Personal Info.
    5) Return Address should read username@shasta.com.
    6) Click on Hosts.
    7) SMTP should read smtp.shasta.com.
    8) Click on OK.

    That's it, you should now be able to send and receive e-mail using Eudora Light!

    Shasta.Com System Settings

    Primary DNS Server: Server Assigned
    Secondary DNS Server: Server Assigned
    Incoming Mail Server: pop.shasta.com
    Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.shasta.com
    News Server: news.shasta.com

    Uploading your website

    Shasta.Com's FTP Server uses the following settings:

    Host Name - ftp.shasta.com
    Host Type - Auto detect
    Username - Your Shasta.Com username
    Password - Your Shasta.Com password

    After connecting to Shasta.Com's ftp server,you will automatically be shown your directory on the server, then your ftp program will display the contents of your harddrive in one window (known as local host) and the contents of your directory on the server in another window (known as remote host). Locate the files you would like to move from your hard drive to the server in the local host window, select the files then press the transfer button (may also be labeled as "upload"). You will then see an indicator showing you the progress of the transfer. After files are done uploading, disconnect from the ftp server.
